I spent the afternoon at the dentist—not a fun place to be. I do like my dentist, periodontist, and orthodontist but I am not a fan of visiting them and I feel like I have been spending a lot of time with them this year. I hope that when I look back on this experience, I will have good thoughts but today…it wasn’t delightful. As I was sitting in the dentist chair, I had this incredible desire to make a treat for my young women tonight. Don’t you have that desire when you are sitting in the dentist chair—making sugary treats? Sometimes I really wonder what goes on in my brain. HA
I came up the conclusion to make Reese’s Peanut Butter Popcorn. Vieve came over to help me put this delicious treat together. Of course, while we were making it, I had to whine about the dentist. She has had her fun with the dentist (NOT) so I knew that she would help me feel better about everything. Ok…so, we whined together. HA
My sweet young women loved the popcorn so I decided to share the recipe with you.
Reese’s Peanut Butter cup Popcorn
1 cup popcorn kernels, popped
1 lb. Almond Bark
1 bag of Reese’s Peanut Butter cup, chopped into small pieces
3/4 cup chocolate chips
· Pop popcorn and place popcorn in a very large mixing bowl.
· Melt the almond bark according to the package.
· Once the almond bark is melted.
· Pour over the popcorn and mix well.
· Add chopped peanut butter cups and fold through popcorn.
· Pour the popcorn out onto a piece of waxed paper or parchment paper.
· Melt the chocolate chips and drizzle over the popcorn. Leave it until the almond bark and chocolate has hardened.
· When chocolate is hardened, use your hands to break up popcorn into chunks. Toss in a bowl and eat!! So delicious!!!
