Peace brings happiness…

Day 67….

As I was reading tonight an incredible book, The Continuous Atonement by Brad Wilcox, I came upon a couple of quotes that truly spoke to my heart.

Continuous_Atonement_detail

Obedience—that which God will never take by force—He will accept when freely given. And He will return to you freedom that you can hardly dream of—the freedom to feel and to know, the freedom to do, and the freedom to be, at least a thousandfold more than we offer Him. Strangely enough, the key to freedom is obedience”. Elder M. Russell Ballard confirmed this when he taught, “Although freedom always brings with it certain risks, challenges, and responsibilities, it also brings real power to those who choose to exercise it wisely.”

I really loved these quotes. They are so true. We usually don’t think that obedience equals freedom but as I think about it more and more, it does. It truly does. I LOVE learning new things or things that bring me to an AH HA moment. I know that I need to study each day to learn and bring myself closer to our Heavenly Father and our Savior. I need to do this every single day and feel the peace that I do right now.

Peace brings me happiness!!!

Just a reminder—what we all need.

quote1

Aw…today is Thursday and what a better day for a quote that touches my heart. I received this quote from a dear friend of mine. I love it. When I read it, it makes me smile. Isn’t it true? We all need to put in our days—good spirits, fun, folly and a “heap of laughter”. Love it!!! I wish upon you this amazing November, “one teaspoon of good spirits, a dash of fun, a pinch of folly, and a heap full of laughter.”

Sometimes we just need a sweet little reminder…

 Try Harder

Sometimes we just need a sweet little reminder that we don’t have to be perfect. Our Heavenly Father knows our heart and our thoughts.  All we have to do is “try a little harder to be a little better.”

P.S.  I am grateful for wise church leaders that constantly guide us to help us become a better person.

Road of life.

Road

From your position on the road of life, you...have many miles to go and many choices to make as you seek to return to our Heavenly Father. Along the road there are many signs that beckon. Satan is the author of some of these invitations. He seeks to confuse and deceive us, to get us on a low road that leads away from our eternal destination .. You have been taught righteousness and assured or its truth, so stay with it... To avoid being deceived, you must also follow the promptings of that Spirit." Dallin H. Oaks

Thursdays thoughts…enjoy the sunlight

It has been a tough week.  There has been so much going on at work that it has left people in a frenzy.  Our building is being somewhat renovated and that has caused plenty of chaos.  People have been moving out of their offices and setting up in random places.  When you need to find someone to ask a question, you are not sure where to even start looking…they could be anywhere.  ANYWHERE!

To add to that chaos, we are having our annual meetings.   We have been dutifully preparing for the arrival of our clients which has added to the chaos.  Papers keep getting misplaced.  Printers are not being cooperative.  Tempers are starting to be lost.  It is crazy.  CHAOS!!

Usually, it is easy to find some laughter but these past few days… there is little laughter but plenty of crankiness.  Some have mastered the art of complete crankiness.  So, when I came upon the following quote, I felt that there was a smile somewhere starting to burst out.  I love this quote!!!

Sunlight

It is so true.  There has been plenty of so-called storms this week.  Why do these storms affect everyone and anyone?  Happy people struggle to remain happy when there are mean and hurtful comments surrounding them.  Darn those ugly storms.

Sunlight.  We definitely need sunlight.  I am going to make it a goal to seek out the sunlight and get rid of those ugly storms.  I really need it…right now!!!  I, definitely, need to find some laughter…maybe tomorrow!

Yes, definitely tomorrow!!!

~Michelle

P.S.  It seems that November is a month that everyone is trying to share things that they are grateful for in their life.  My question…why don’t we always share these types of things?  Whether it is for people, things, emotions, and whatnot…why can’t we share everyday of the year. Anyway, since I am a list maker…I choose to accept the challenge to share things that I am grateful for in my life.

Today, I am grateful for those moments in my life where  I KNOW that my Heavenly Father loves me.  I truly needed to feel that amazing love today.

It is Quick Quote Thursday….love this quote!!

Every time I read this particular quote, tears flow down my cheeks.   It is powerful.  Then,  I feel the peace in my heart when I think of those people…I call “friend”.

226482

“We are all in this together. We need each other. Oh, how we need each other. Those of us who are old need you who are young, and hopefully, you who are young need some of us who are old...We need deep and satisfying and loyal friendships with each other. These friendships are a necessary source of sustenance. We need to renew our faith every day. We need to lock arms and help build the kingdom so that it will roll forth and fill the whole earth.”

It is Quick Quote Thursday...Stop it!!!

It is quick quote Thursday and I have a quote that I want to share. This past weekend, I had the opportunity of watching General Conference on TV.  There were so many inspiring words that truly touched my heart.  It was rewarding and worth all 8 hours of sitting in my pajamas, taking notes, and letting my heart be filled with so much goodness.

A quote that truly touched my heart and brought a few tears was one that came from Pres. Dieter F. Ucthdorf.    He is so amazing and what he shared with us on Sunday morning was incredible.
I love it.

I found this cute printable.  I am excited to print it and have it as a constant reminder.

But...then as I was reading blogs...I found one on my amazing friend's blog.  You must check it out!!!  Go ahead click here and take a look for yourself.  I love the NIKE swoosh and when I saw this quote....I knew that I had to have it!!  I need this one framed for a constant reminder!!!

Have an amazing day!!

Footprints!

footprints_in_the_snow_by_glitz0101-d35es6z I woke up this morning (3:46 am to be exact) thinking about footprints.  Footprints?  Yes, footprints.  If you walk across a snowy road or path, eventually those footprints that you leave behind are covered with snow or eventually cleared away.  If you walk across a beach, the footprints that you leave will soon be covered up by water or mud.  But the footprints you leave on someone’s life is never covered up.  They remain there for ever.  The quote,  “Some people come into our lives, leave footprints on our hearts and we are never the same” is one of my most favorite quotes.  These types of footprints are never washed away, covered up or cleared away.  These footprints stay with you or the person forever.

I think that it would be amazing to open up someone’s heart (figuratively speaking, of course) and examine the millions and billions of footprints that make up that heart.  Are there lots of the footprints that leave sweet tenderness and kindness types of prints?  Or would you find deep footprints that contain sadness and despair that penetrate the soul just by observing them?

For the past hour, I have been examining my own heart and the zillions of footprints that cover the outside and the inside of my heart.  There are so many footprints that have touched my life for the good.  Each set of them I am so grateful for…for they have brought me an abundance amount of tenderness, kindness and happiness.  As I look closely to those footprints that have brought me true sadness and despair…am I grateful for them too?  After pondering this question, my answer is yes.  I am.  They make up me.  Michelle Lynn Gren.

I hope and pray that the footprints that I leave are prints that bring tenderness, kindness and happiness.   I would never want to find out that I left behind true sadness and despair….those that cannot be repaired by a simple hug or a gentle “I am sorry” or a loving “I love you”.

My question to you (and you need not answer) is what type of footprints did you leave today?

Just pondering,

~Michelle
