Eye drops…my forever friend!!

eye-drop

I love my eyes.  I love the color of my eyes.  No, I am not being vain…I just love my eyes.  Let me share what I learned about my eyes…ok, my right eye to be specific.

On Wednesday, Vieve and I were reading a piece of paper.  She turned to look at me and said, “What is wrong with your eye?”  Sometimes I get little bubbles in my eyes but they pop and then they go away.  It really isn’t a big deal.  Usually, they aren’t that noticeable.  Anyway, I did not think anything of it.  I thought that I had a little bubble in my eye.  No big deal!!!  Right? Umm…No!

The next morning, I was getting ready for work and noticed my eye…it looked as if it had some sort of growth on the edge of the iris. My heart sunk….I am so sick of doctors. I am sick of being poked and prodded.  I have gone through so much in the past two months with doctors.  I just was not in the mood to visit one more.  I love my eye doctor…but I just did not want to call him.

I received a strong impression to make the phone call. So, I did.  I explained to the receptionist that I had this weird growth thingy growing on the iris of my eye. She told me that she needed to get me in that very day. She asked if I could be there at 2:20 pm.  Hmmm…usually, it takes a couple of weeks to get into see him. I kind of had a panic feeling inside.  Oh, I dislike those types of feelings!

Finally…the time approached.  They ran through a bunch of tests on my eyes and then, Dr. Nielson says, “Michelle, you have Salzmann’s Nodular Degeneration of the Cornea disease.” I am thinking to myself, “Umm…excuse me…what is that?” Then, the next comment made me laugh.  He said, “Well, it is common…ok…not real common.” So, is it common or is it not?  Why do I always end up with the weird diagnosis?  Maybe to keep me humble.  Ha Ha!!  Life is good.

For the rest of entire life…UGH!!…I get to lubricate my eye 4 to 5 times a day.  Oh, I am so excited!  No, I am not!!  So, this new adventure starts…one drop at a time.  It has been quite comical to watch me try and put the drops in my eyes. I have never ever done this before.  It is quite the sight to see.  Hopefully, I will get the knack of it soon…if not, I am going to own stock in tissues!!  Wish me luck on my new adventure!!

Have a great day!!!  If you need a laugh, come over and watch me try to put eye drops in my eye. It is comical!

Seriously, how do you find these things? Or why do they happen to you? That is really random. I'll have to ask you more about it next time I see you.

Hopefully you get better at the eye-droppers!
