Happy Birthday Julie!!! Today, we celebrated Julie's anniversary of her 29th birthday. We started out the morning with muffins and then it was off to lunch at Julie's favorite restaurant--The Olive Garden. While we were enjoying our soup, salad and breadsticks, a family sat down at the table next to where I was sitting. This particular family sitting at the table was conversing over what food that they were going to eat when the waitress arrived with their drinks. All of a sudden, one of the drinks dropped to the floor. Since it was a child's drink it had a lid on it. You are probably thinking--"Thank goodness!" At least, that is what I was thinking when all of a sudden, the soda mixture comes spraying out of the straw-straight at me. The sweet little girl is trying frantically to stop the mixture as it covers my clothes, my purse, my feet, my chair and my hair. I was not sure if I was suppose to scream or laugh. As I wipe up the soda mixtures--I was grateful that I did wear my black sweater--but my khaki pants by this time have small soda spots all over them. Yes, it was crazy as every one is talking and pointing at this awesome scene. I do have to admit, it was pretty cool to see that soda mixture spraying from the end of the straw.
Well, the rest of the lunch went pretty smoothly. I thought the drama was over. No, not really. Lunch is over and we stand to leave. I look down at my"spotted soda" pants and I notice that there is chocolate on the side of my pants. I start to look around and I have sat in chocolate. The thing is...I did not have anything chocolate. By this time, I know that today is definitely NOT my day to eat at the Olive Garden--okay, the things that we must endure to eat that delicious salad, soup, and breadsticks!!
...Back to work to enjoy Julie's favorite treat--homemade brownies, ice cream and chocolate sauce. The boys in our department created this yummy treat for us. Okay, they baked the brownies, purchased the ice cream and sauce and then, sat back and had Vieve and I dish it out to everyone. Doesn't it look simply fabulous? Well, Julie, I do hope that you have had a fabulous day of the anniversary of your 29th birthday!!!
Sometimes, we find ourselves dwelling on the negative things or the not-so-negative things in our own lives. So, I decided today to find at least 5 things that I am grateful for each day. So, today, I am grateful for 1: friends 2: laughing when sometimes we feel like crying 3: yummy birthday lunches 4: homemade treats 5: Tide Pens and Spray & Wash for certain mishaps in our lives!
Have a fabulous day!

Wow! What a day. Glad you kept a positive attitude about the whole thing. Isn't it amazing what a positive attitude can do?
I'm dying to know...did you go home between Olive Garden and brownie-yumminess at work to change into one of your other 57 pair of khaki pants? =0) And are the damaged pants out of rotation now?
Love you Michelle!
I think you need to blog about your aversion to circle foods. This is one key piece of info in getting to know you!
Gerb-to answer the question--Spray & Wash and Tide Pens do wonders. My khaki's (or should I say my 57th pair of Khaki's) were not ruined. They did go back into the rotation. If the weather stays the way it is--I should be wearing them again in November.
Cami--I am planning to share my "aversion to circle foods" soon!!! HA HA
