I love having a little best friend!

day two

Today, I was able to spend a lot of time with my little best friend.  I love her so much and she truly brings a smile to my face. She brings so much joy to our family.  She says the most random and crazy things that just bring plenty of giggles and sunshine to everyone she is comes in contact with and I just don’t seem to get enough of her.  She just brings so much happiness to my heart and soul.  Today, she came up to me and said, “Guess what, Aunt Michelle?” I responded with, “What?”  Then she quickly melted my heart with, “I love you!”  Aw….I love this girl!!!

Cutting down trees

On the edge of my parent’s property are some trees that needed to be cut down.  They were unhealthy and each time a storm would come, they feared that they would drop on their home.  So, since it was a beautiful afternoon, my dad and my brother decided to take one on the task.

Shad had to climb the tree to appropriately fasten the rope so that it did not fall onto the neighbors fence or house.

Then, Dad took his chainsaw to it.

and then wanting to help…

Once the trees were almost down…Brylie decided that she wanted to dance on the stumps…

It definitely was a perfect spring day to be outside and enjoy the sun!!

Stationary portfolios

I absolutely love receiving things in mail—whatever it is.  I love looking at the envelop/package that is addressed to me, opening it and looking at the contents or reading the letter or card that is specifically for me.  Yes, just for me.  I LOVE it. It truly brings a smile to my face when I know that  someone has been thinking of me..  That immediate smile and rush of happiness fills my entire body.  Do you want to know what else brings a smile to my heart and creates that same happiness?  It is sending my dear friends letters, cards and packages in the mail.  I know how much it means to me so I hope that it means the same to them or even more.  I can only imagine what goes through their mind when they are opening their packages or envelopes.

I wanted to bring some smiles in to some of my friend’s hearts today.  So…I created some adorable (yes, when I say adorable, I mean adorable.—I l love the way that they turned out) stationary portfolios and sent them to my dear sweet little friends that are serving missions for our church.

day one100 days of happiness

This is a picture of the outside of them but I forgot to take of picture of what was in the inside.  OOPS!!!!  In the inside, pockets I filled them with cards, envelopes and stationary.  The stationary is printed with their names on them and the mission that they are serving in.  I truly hope that it will bring a smile to their faces when they open their packages.  Aw…my heart is happy today.

100 days of happiness...starts tomorrow!!

I had a few moments (only a few) to check out Instagram and see what is happening in the life of my dear friends.  As I looked through the various posts, I found set of posts that were intriguing.  They were labeled #100daysofhappiness.  As I looked back through the posts, I saw various things and people.  Each time I clicked on a picture, I could see and read what brought my friend happiness during that particular day.  As I thought about how much I love being happy, I decided that I wanted to share it on my blog.  I quickly challenged my dear friend, Vieve, to play along with me.  So...for the next 100 days, you will be see what brings me happiness.   If you would like to join me, please do.  I love to see and hear what brings people happiness.

See you tomorrow for day one!!!

Anchors!

anchor-hi

Tonight while studying Helaman 5:12, I came across an incredible quote that touched my heart. Elder Richard G. Scott stated,

"Anchor your life in Jesus Christ, your Redeemer. make your Eternal Father and his Beloved Son the most important priority in your life--more important than life itself, more important than a beloved companion or children or anyone on earth. Make their will your central desire. Then all you need for happiness will come to you."

Isn't that powerful? I love how he said, "make their will your central desire. Then all you need for happiness will come to you"--isn't that awesome? Love it!!

Let it go!!

just-let-it-go

Last night as I was sitting in my hotel room unable to sleep (due to a screaming baby in the next room and my overpowering thoughts) pondering the events of the week, reflecting on last week's YW lesson and preparing for an upcoming lesson, I reflected on the following words by President Uchtdorf, "Brothers and sisters, there is enough heartache and sorrow in this life without our adding to it through our own stubbornness, bitterness, and resentment. We are not perfect. The people around us are not perfect. People do things that annoy, disappoint, and anger. In this mortal life it will always be that way. Nevertheless, we must let go of our grievances. Part of the purpose of mortality is to learn how to let go of such things. That is the Lord’s way." While pondering those words, the song "Let it Go" from the movie FROZEN came to mind. Just think if we went around singing "Let it go, let it go" and really meant what Pres. Uctdorf is sharing with us, wouldn't we be happier and more loving? I definitely think so!!!
