Laundromats? Not for me!

There is one thing that I do not like---LAUNDRY. I do love clothes but, I hate doing laundry. It seems like it is a task that is never completed. The thing is--I am only doing laundry for one person and I still hate it. Anyway, I needed to wash my bedspread and my washer is too small. So, we took it to the Laundromat. Okay, that was an experience all in itself. I think that if I had to do my laundry at a Laundromat, I would just purchase new clothes to wear every day. I was kind of CREEPED out.

I did see a positive thing about the Laundromat. You can do 8 loads of laundry at one time. You could be finished with all eight loads in an hour and a half. How do I know this? I watched this lady fill eight washers with clothes. When the washing machine stopped, she filled eight dryers. This is not a bad idea. She eight loads in the amount of time that it took me to wash and dry my bedspread. But, still....I would rather purchase new clothes.

...fabulous things friday--interrupted for glasses

Brylie wanted to try on glasses, too!!!

Yes, fabulous things Friday is interrupted for glasses. Yes, glasses!!! Lately, I have noticed that there is a change in my vision. I really could not figure out what was changing but, something was causing my eyes to act a little WeIrD!! I started noticing that if I read or stared at my computer screen for a long length of time, my eyes would water and then, they would become tired. But, it did not stop there--things would become a tad bit blurry. This little ritual was driving me crazy!! It was time to get my eyes checked.

So, today was the day of my exciting eye appointment. I was accompanied by my Mom and my darling little niece. It seems that every time they do something to my eyes--I end up with a horrible migraine and then, the nausea feeling starts. It is not fun at all. (Thanks Mom for being my chauffeur--it definitely is difficult to drive when you can't see).

I guess the worse thing that I hate it they put the numbing drops in my eyes. I hate it!! I feel like my eyeballs are going to fall out!!! Mr. Eye Doctor checked for cornea disease, glaucoma, muscular degeneration, and the pressure in my eyes. I am glad that I PASSED all of those tests. Too bad that my left eye did not pass the simple eye test. Yes, I have the privilege of wearing glasses when I read and work on tedious things.

Then, it came time to pick out my new glasses. I narrowed down to 20 then, down to 10. I tried on the 10 again and narrowed it down to 3. I just could not choose from those three--so, now I own three different glasses. You might be thinking? Three eye glasses? Yes, I have 3 different ones to match the different colors of clothing I wear.

favorite things friday...

One of my most favorite things is...
NEW SOCKS!!!

It is favorite things Friday and one of my most favorite things is NEW SOCKS!! Yes!! I love new socks especially, white socks. I am not much into the crazy type of socks--my favorite ones are just plain white. Of course, that does NOT reflect my personality--but, white socks for me is just dandy.

One of my favorite memories of growing up is that of new socks. Mom would always buy me new socks at the beginning of the school year, at Christmas time and then, at the beginning of the summer. Thanks Mom!!

There is just something about new socks that gets those little endorphins working. So, the other day, I decided to get those little endorphins working and purchased some new socks. (Guess what? They were not plain white. They were pink and white). I took off my old socks and then, put on my new socks. Oh, I was in heaven!!! I just love new socks!! I went to the gym and smiled at everyone. I bet everyone was thinking that I was glad to be at the gym but, they were wrong. I was smiling because I had on my new socks!!!

Do stop signs EVER turn GREEN?

Have you ever been so tired that you are not sure if you are coming or going? I will admit that I have! In fact, I am extremely tired!!! At least, I hope that is the reason why I stopped at a stop sign and waited and waited and waited. Then, four minutes later, I realized that the stop sign will never turn green. It will be forever red. It is a stop sign and not a stop light! At that moment, I looked around to make sure no one was watching, turned the corner and drove straight home.

Happy Sleeping!!!

a new day...a new beginning...

Serving in the Stake Young Women’s presidency, I have had the opportunity of attending several New Beginnings. I love attending these functions. I am always excited to see what each ward places their focus or theme on for the evening. I have attended many that have created a spectacular night for their young women. On the other hand, I have attended many that are sweet and simple. I have found that we have young women leaders in our Stake that are truly focused on their young women and completely cater to their needs. Tonight, was no exception. I attended a New Beginnings that very simple but, a simple quote by their Bishop made me really start to ponder. He was telling the young women in his ward that every morning when we wake up–it is a New Beginning. He went on to tell them that we each have a special opportunity to leave yesterday behind us and begin each morning as it was a new beginning of life. He is correct!

A new day...a new beginning...why has it taken me this long in life to really have that thought hit my soul? I will admit that I worry constantly about things that happened yesterday, the day before yesterday and so on. Not only do I worry about yesterday, I seem to worry about all the tomorrows. I was thinking if every day is a new beginning then, why do I worry about the yesterdays and the tomorrows? So, my new goal is to start each new day as if it were a new beginning of life. This is going to be great–I can just feel it!!

Happy New Beginnings!

a perfectly wrapped gift...

A few posts ago, I wrote about my amazing and dear friend, Gerb. Well, guess what? She is at it again!!! She is living up to her amazing and fantastic self. She is coolest friend that anyone can ever have in their whole entire world. I am so glad that she is my friend!! Let me share one thing about Gerb--she is completely 100% inspired. Not only is she inspired to bless those around her but, she acts upon that inspiration. I am not sure that she will ever know the impact that she has on everyone.

Dear Gerb,
When I arrived home after an extremely busy day at the office, upon my doorstep I found a beautifully wrapped present. On the outside of the blue and silver wrapped present was a card with "Michelle" written across the front. Of course, a giggle escaped and a smile spread across my face. I ran upstairs to open my sweet little card and gift. The card was perfect--bright and cheery flowers. Then, excitedly I opened my perfectly wrapped present.

I opened the book and read and read. Laughter escaped my whole being--what a perfect gift!!! I have never seen such a wonderful book. Like you said in the card--"it is a cute and funny gem". I agree with you! It definitely is a cute and funny gem--I love it!! I will treasure it always. Thanks for being inspired to give me such a wonderful gift. I am indeed grateful for this "unvalentine". You are the best and I love you tons!!!
Love,
