Do stop signs EVER turn GREEN?

Have you ever been so tired that you are not sure if you are coming or going? I will admit that I have! In fact, I am extremely tired!!! At least, I hope that is the reason why I stopped at a stop sign and waited and waited and waited. Then, four minutes later, I realized that the stop sign will never turn green. It will be forever red. It is a stop sign and not a stop light! At that moment, I looked around to make sure no one was watching, turned the corner and drove straight home.

Happy Sleeping!!!

a new day...a new beginning...

Serving in the Stake Young Women’s presidency, I have had the opportunity of attending several New Beginnings. I love attending these functions. I am always excited to see what each ward places their focus or theme on for the evening. I have attended many that have created a spectacular night for their young women. On the other hand, I have attended many that are sweet and simple. I have found that we have young women leaders in our Stake that are truly focused on their young women and completely cater to their needs. Tonight, was no exception. I attended a New Beginnings that very simple but, a simple quote by their Bishop made me really start to ponder. He was telling the young women in his ward that every morning when we wake up–it is a New Beginning. He went on to tell them that we each have a special opportunity to leave yesterday behind us and begin each morning as it was a new beginning of life. He is correct!

A new day...a new beginning...why has it taken me this long in life to really have that thought hit my soul? I will admit that I worry constantly about things that happened yesterday, the day before yesterday and so on. Not only do I worry about yesterday, I seem to worry about all the tomorrows. I was thinking if every day is a new beginning then, why do I worry about the yesterdays and the tomorrows? So, my new goal is to start each new day as if it were a new beginning of life. This is going to be great–I can just feel it!!

Happy New Beginnings!

a perfectly wrapped gift...

A few posts ago, I wrote about my amazing and dear friend, Gerb. Well, guess what? She is at it again!!! She is living up to her amazing and fantastic self. She is coolest friend that anyone can ever have in their whole entire world. I am so glad that she is my friend!! Let me share one thing about Gerb--she is completely 100% inspired. Not only is she inspired to bless those around her but, she acts upon that inspiration. I am not sure that she will ever know the impact that she has on everyone.

Dear Gerb,
When I arrived home after an extremely busy day at the office, upon my doorstep I found a beautifully wrapped present. On the outside of the blue and silver wrapped present was a card with "Michelle" written across the front. Of course, a giggle escaped and a smile spread across my face. I ran upstairs to open my sweet little card and gift. The card was perfect--bright and cheery flowers. Then, excitedly I opened my perfectly wrapped present.

I opened the book and read and read. Laughter escaped my whole being--what a perfect gift!!! I have never seen such a wonderful book. Like you said in the card--"it is a cute and funny gem". I agree with you! It definitely is a cute and funny gem--I love it!! I will treasure it always. Thanks for being inspired to give me such a wonderful gift. I am indeed grateful for this "unvalentine". You are the best and I love you tons!!!
Love,

a simple envelope...

I have been contemplating about something that happened to me today. Something that makes the deepest part of my heart ache. Those types of things that maybe if you could turn back time--not a lot of time, but maybe hit the rewind button for just a couple of hours and change the event or the thing that brings you sadness or pain--possibly the thought to even delete it--life could and would be different. I think that if we could do that, life would be a little more easier or a tad bit simpler.

I know of someone who after some sort of tirade will then say something to the affect of "rewind that" or "delete that last statement". Wouldn't it be easier if we could do such a thing? But, the thing is--we can't. We just can't. It is not possible. We can't take back things that we have said or in my case today--I can't take back what caused my heart to ache. It is there--it is planted. I wish it could happen, but it just can not.

So, after this little heart ache event, I found myself over at a friend's home. I was explaining to her what had just happened. She yelled upstairs to her sweet little daughter and said, "Michelle is having a bad day too." See, her little daughter had just gotten into trouble and was sent upstairs to her room. Seconds, yes, I mean, seconds passed and her daughter came running down the stairs and presented me with this....

It is a valentine. I am not sure if you can read it but, it says, "Michel Happy Valentines". In the the little box it reads "sorry if I spelled your name wrong it's sort of hard to spell for me." Plus, she added "Do not open till Valentines." Oh!! What an adorable little sweetheart!! I am grateful for this little girl in my life. She is so fun and so sweet. I guess, she had been working on this since she arrived home from church. Isn't it interesting that we can learn a lot from little children. Part of my heart was aching a little today--but, a piece of it is being healed by a sweet little friend. She had no clue how much this envelope would mean to a me today...she was just being herself. I can not wait until Valentines day to see what I have inside the envelope!! Thank you my little friend...you are truly a blessing in my life!!

Thumbs...I do love you!!

Today I had the opportunity of eating lunch with some of my friends at work. We were sitting around the table laughing, eating and talking. Bre brought up an interesting point--she asked if we had ever thought how important our thumbs were in our everyday life. When she made that comment, we all tried to start using only our fingers and pretending that our thumbs did not exist. Do you know how difficult it is to not have thumbs? I tried picking up my drink---"tried" is the huge key. I could not pick up my drink. Then, I tried to pick up my sandwich--all the contents of my sandwich spilled all over my napkin. It was crazy. Guess what, Bre, I am in deed grateful for my thumbs.

When I went back to my desk, I tried typing at my computer without using my thumbs--I could not do it. Then, I went to the bathroom--no thumbs to un-do the buttons. Oh, I am so grateful for my thumbs. To my precious thumbs, I do love you so much!!!
