I love this!!

Lately, I have been thinking a lot about goals.  I love setting goals.  I am not sure if it is the sense of accomplishment or the amazing growth that I find in myself as I finish step by step of the plan that I have created.  Tonight, I started to write down a few of my goals…ones that I want to start working right this very minute.  I am excited to have a new sense of motivation.  I can do this!  I know that I can.

As I was searching for some thoughts, ideas, quotes and pictures to remind me of the exciting plan I have, I came across this wall hanging.  I love it.  I want to be all of these things. I need to put this in a place where I constantly see it.  abcAw…I love setting goals.

Again…I would love some chips & salsa, please!

So…remember a few days ago when I ordered chips and salsa and received chips and tomatoes?  I can’t seem to forget the sadness that I felt when I was handed my order. Anyway, Vieve and I decided to order lunch from Café Rio.  Deliciousness.  Since, I was still craving chips and salsa, we decided to order some of that delectable treat.  I was so excited.  Seriously, the craving of chips and salsa has almost got the best of me.

We drove to Café Rio and picked up our delicious “to go” lunch. All the way back to work, I was dreaming of eating chips and salsa. Finally, we arrived back to the office.  Vieve opened the brown paper sack, reached in and pulled out the salsa. She placed the two containers of salsa on the table.  Then, she opened the white plastic sack…

NO CHIPS!!

Seriously…no chips!  My heart was broken.  What is up with my luck, lately?!  I wanted chips and salsa so bad.  UGH!!

Anyway, tonight…my mom told me that she was bringing me a treat to the softball game. I was so excited.

Could it be a Diet Coke?

Could it be homemade chocolate chip cookies?

Could it be strawberry ice cream?

Guess what it was?

A simple Primary song.

2012-08-26 23.17.48 (1)A few nights ago, my mind was clouded with so many thoughts.  I knew that I needed to get those thoughts out of my head so that I could try and have a good nights sleep.  As I started to write, tears started to flow freely from my eyes.   I poured out everything that has been building up inside.  As I wrote page after page, thought after thought, I knew that I needed to keep writing.  I needed to get everything that has been plaguing my thoughts out.

The more that I wrote, the more the impression came that I needed to talk to someone.  I needed to talk to a friend.  I needed someone to listen.  I was ready to talk and I needed someone who cared.  I glanced at the clock.  It read 11:35 pm.  It was too late to call anyone.  As I pondered for a split second, the lyrics of a simple Primary song came to mind. “Heavenly Father, are you really there? And do you hear and answer every child’s prayer?” Those two sentences kept replaying themselves inside my brain.

Heavenly Father, are you really there?  Are you really there for me?  Me…Michelle.  Seriously, do you answer every child’s prayer?  Feeling that I really needed to ask, I set my pen down and closed my eyes. Tears flowed freely as my thoughts and pleas turned heavenward. I needed someone to listen.

The phone rang. I opened my eyes and glanced at the clock.  It read 11:40.  I answered it.

“Hello.”

“Would you like a visitor?”

Heavenly Father, are you really there?  And do you hear and answer every child’s prayer?  With as much peace that anyone could possibly feel, my answer is YES.  Yes, he does.  He is really there and he hears and answers every prayer.

Mom and I stopped to have something to eat at Beto’s in Springville.  I have been craving chips and salsa for quite sometime and I really wanted this delicious goodness tonight.

When they handed me my order…

I was disappointed.  This was not chips and salsa.  It was chips and tomatoes with a few onions.  I was so sad.  I wanted chips and salsa.  I wanted some delicious goodness.  I guess for tonight, I will have to be satisfied with chips and tomatoes. So sad.

I love this quote!

nichelle

I have been thinking a lot about who I am and the person that I want to become.  I have a strong desire to become a better and stronger person.  As I came across this quote by Audrey Hepburn, I fell so strongly that I should frame it and hang it in my bedroom.  Each morning, I have the sweet reminder to look for the good in others; to speak with kindness and walk with knowledge.  The best part of the whole quote is to remember I am never alone.  This quote brings such a warm peaceful feeling.  I just love it.

Do you have a quote that brings a warm peaceful feeling each time you read it?  Do you have a quote that reminds you of who you are?  Do you have a quote or thought that helps you become a better person?  I would love to know.

I have caught the flower frenzy!

While at Young Women’s Camp (aw…I still need to blog about that amazing week), the youth camp leaders for the stake made flowers out of felt.   I was unable to participate in that event since I was participating that was running simultaneously and when I saw them…I wanted to learn how to make them. The ycls had their adorable little flowers to headbands.  They were so cute.

I thought that they were so adorable and I have been wanting to learn how to make them since that day. So…today was the day to create these beautiful little things. While Mom was receiving a tutoring lesson on her incredible new sewing machine from my sweet friend, Michelle, I was being tutored by Amelia.  Oh my goodness, they were so easy to create.  They are simply adorable.  Oh, I think that I have now caught the flower frenzy.

Instead of attaching them to headband, I decided to turn them into magnets.  I am so excited to place these adorable flowers on my bulletin board.  These were so much fun to make!  Thank you Amelia for helping me create these adorable flowers!!!  I love them.

laptop meets milk…not a love story

…and the story begins….

Once upon a month ago,  I purchased a beautiful pink laptop.

Instantly, I fell in love with it! It had all of the features that I have every wanted in a laptop.  I treated it with respect, kindness and amazing love.  I kept it away from any liquids, treats or anything that could lead to damaging affects.  I loved it.  It was perfect in every way until…

Two days ago, I came home from a softball game and had an urge to have a cold glass of milk.  My beautiful pink laptop was in my hand.  I gently placed it on the island while I poured my milk.

A thought popped into my head, “Michelle, why don’t you boot up the laptop while you are pouring your milk?!”  Great idea.  I pressed the “on” key.  While it was powering on, I grabbed a glass from the cupboard and poured a delicious glass of cold milk.

I glanced at the screen and noticed that I had an email.  I clicked on the inbox with my right hand…since the glass of milk was in my left hand.

Aw…it was an email from a sweet friend of mine.  Still holding the glass of milk, I read it  and decided to quickly email her back.  I sat the glass down with my left hand (because I would need it to type with it)  and my right hand hit the glass and SPLASH.  Milk covered the entire keyboard and screen.

I screamed, “Are you serious?”

Frantically, I tilted the laptop and watched the milk as it poured from the laptop.  Milk was everywhere.  I grabbed towels to soak up the liquidy mess. It was coming out of every hole and crevice .  My heart sank!

…that is how laptop met milk.

The End.
